12 o 20 A Cloudy and snowy. Suppose winter is half gone mind indeed so far. Homer has just got his permit to carry passengers after bussing ever since last July.

0 to 20A Fair in forenoon. Clouded after dinner with signs of snow tonight. No snow or wind.

10 to 20 above. Cloudy. Snowed some today. Another Town Meeting today some excitement prevailed but quieted down before adjournment.

20 to 26 above. Cloudy. Snowed hard all day. About one foot has fallen today with three inches yesterday makes a big addition to the snow crop.

22 to 30 above. Sunshine and snow squalls have prevailed at intervals all day.

10 to 16 above. Fair. Cool and windy. Snow is traveling and rounding up to roads badly.

10 to 14 above. Fair. Has been a cold windy day. Hard going on the roads. Homer has made his two runs to Rumford all right today with Snow Boots.

18 to 20 above. Clear. Cold and windy. My 74th birthday. The girls made me a birthday cake and helped us eat it at supper. A pleasant time for all.

30 to 60 above. Fair. Some change in the weather seems some like Spring. Glad to see it warmer. The snow has gone fast today. Sheridan went down the line today to try and sell his birch.

32 to 56 A. Fair. The snow is leaving fast. Saw the firs wagon pass by today. The town scrapped the road by our house today.

30 to 60 A. Fair. Went down to the river today. Bad walking snow water and mud. Mrs. Cliff Pane died today. A sad death indeed.

28 to 45 Cloudy. Cloudy and cold all the time. We got word from our Upton friends saying that Aunt May Chase died suddenly this morning. Seems sad indeed.

Have been to Norway to the funeral service our cousin Dottie Abbott. She was 71 years old. Uncle Wm. Abbott’s daughter of Upton, Maine. There were 10 autos in the procession.

Cold and cloudy have not seen the sun today. Sowed a few more oats today.

A rainy day. The first one we have had for a long time. Grass and the cops needed it.

Wet and raining again today.

Cleared off today.

Another fine day. Have been putting in wood today. Sheridan commenced to cultivate the potatoes on the Hall place today. Fred came tonight.

Friday 9


Elizabeth went to the Hospital today for appendix trouble.

Monday 19


Commenced haying today. Mowed down quite a lot. Weather not the best. Elizabeth came home from the hospital today.

Tuesday 20


Sheridan sprayed his potatoes today. They are growing fine now. Raked up the grass we cut yesterday.

Wednesday 21


90 Got in 4 loads of hay today and cut down some more. A hot day.

Thursday 22


98 Cloudy A.M. fine P.M. Got in 3 loads today. We got a heavy thunder shower this evening. Another very hot day.

Friday 23


96 A fairly good day. Got 1 load today. Still hot.

Saturday 24


94 Fine. We have had some warm weather this past week. A fine hay day. Got in 2 loads making 10 loads this week.

70 fine. Seems nice to have it a little cooler.

Mowed the rest of the meadow this morning. Did not work in the P.M. as it rained the most of the time.

No hay day. Sheridan has been shingling on his house today.

Fine. A good hay day. We got two large loads today.

Thursday 5


Another fine day. We got in 3 loads of hay today.

Friday 6


Another hay day. Got in tow large loads today.

Saturday 7


Finished haying today. Got 3 loads making 31 loads in all. The barn will be filled when the oats are harvested.

Monday 16


We are in Colebrook N.H. tonight. Fred is with us. Have a nice ride from Andover to Bethel up through Berlin and several other towns arriving here about 6 P.M. Raining tonight.

Tuesday 17


Cleared away this morning. Went up to the Canadian line which was our first visit to the Border. Came home by way Dixville Notch and the Balsams which looked fine. Got home at 3 P.M

Finished putting the wood in the shed today.

Mowed our oats today. Went to Olive Akers wedding at the home of her parents Mr. & Mrs. Lewis C. Akers. A large number were present.

We got our first killing frost this morning. Cucumbers and grass and potatoes green until now. Finished digging our potatoes at home today. Had 160 bu.

68A A warm morning night could not rest good it was so warm. A rainy day today. Some of the trees are still green others all shades of colors. They are handsome to look at.

Fifty four years ago today my father bought our farm and home of Asa A. West and we have owned it ever since.

Snowed gently all day. About three inches of snow on the ground tonight. The cows have been in the barn today. Fred is with us tonight.
