Another fine day but cold. 24 below. Mr. George Hutchins died this morning.

Cloudy today sign of storm. Went up to my timber lot found the Leonard boys cutting timber without my consent.

Raining this PM. Have been at home all day.

Nice day. Have been hauling manure today.

Another fine day. The same business.

Great weather. Same work. Fred is with us tonight.

Commenced to get my ice today. 140 cakes.

Some stormy today. 140 cakes.

Storm and wind today. Could not work on ice so went to the Grange.

Cold and windy but pleasant. 5 above

Monday, 12


Have been working on ice today got 160 cakes. The worst night we have had outside this winter. 5 below with a gale and snow flying.

Still colder. 20 below nearly all day. Have not worked on ice today too cold and windy.
