Phebe was born on 6 March 1782.1 Phebe died on 1 April 1839 at Lowell, Middlesex, MA, at age 57.1
The "Dover Gazette" of Oct. 21, 1828, contained the following item: ---
"Found Dead, at the door fo Susan and Phebe Richards, in Rochester, on the morning of the 17th inst., Mr. Joshua Trickey, in a situation that indicates that he must have been dead before he was left there. And inquisition was hled on the body, and it was ascertained that Tiickey bought two quarts of rum as late as half-past nine o'clock the evening before, and went towards the house of the above named Susan and Phebe, who bought that day one quart, and were the only residents of the house."
It was supposed that Trickey got drunk in the house and died from the effects of the the liquor, and that the Richards girls dragged him out and left him at the door. The house, which was situated a little below the village, where the Great Falls road branches from the main road, was afterwards destroyed by the citizens, asw had been others of like character. This event occurring so near the beginning of the temperance movement, added not a little to the excitement which already existed.2

James was born at Dover, Strafford, NH, on 22 February 1766.1 He married Mehitable Thorndike before 1792.2,1 James died on 29 December 1858 at age 92.2
According to Morse:
" James (was) by occupation, a miller . . . Living in Camden at the commencement of its being settled, he was necessarily exposed to many hardships and privations. But through industry and untiring effort, he was entirely successful in business, so that in his declining years he enjoyed all the comforts and many of the luxuries of life. As a husband and father, he was tenderly and devotedly beloved. His private life was almost without reproach, and he was highly respected and esteemed by the community in which he lived. His integrity and examples though life proved that he was influenced by a holy christian principle; an it can be truly said of him, that he went down to the grave like a shock of corn fully ripe, leaning confidingly upon the arm of his Redeemer. In his last hours the loving hearts and gentle hands of his children administered to his wants, an3d long will his memory be cherished by the many friends who knew him."
