     According to Morse, he was probably brought up in Newburyport where his gand-uncle John and his uncles lived. After marriage, he moved to Falmouth, ME and settled in Cape Elizabeth.1

This may be the Humphrey that Holman talks about as being John of Newbury's nephew instead of his son. On March 15 1736-7, Humphrey Richards was elected sexton of the First Parish of Newbury. He served until March 14, 1784. He died prior to February 1, 1785.2 Humphrey was born at Boston, Suffolk, MA, on 4 April 1721.3,4 He was baptized at Boston, Suffolk, MA, on 9 April 1721.
