Ripley Jonathan Richards was born on 19 April 1828 at VT.¹ He married Elizabeth Margaret Turney on 23 October 1854 at New London, Outagamie, WI.¹ Ripley Jonathan Richards died on 8 May 1905 at Bellingham, Whatcom, WA, at age 77.¹ He was buried after 8 May 1905 at Bayview Cemetery, Bellingham, Whatcom, WA.²
He began military service on 21 April 1861 at Oshkosh, Outagamie, WI, as a private in Company E, 2nd Wisconsin Infantry.^1,3 He lived on 1 June 1861 at Liberty, Outagamie, WI.⁴ (an unknown value.)⁵ He was discharged on 24 November 1862 at Alexandria, Fairfax, VA, on a disability discharge for rheumatism from Co. E, 2nd Wisconsin Infantry.^6,3 He ended military service on 28 June 1865 at Jeffersonville, Clark, IN, from Co. E, 7th Wisconsin. He also served in Co. I, 3rd Wisconsin Cavalry.⁶ He appeared on the census of 20 June 1885 at Antigo, Langdale, WI. The household consisted of 5 males and 3 females.⁷
